I have a call into the Woodchuck Den and hope to get his .20 cal manual heading my way soon. In the meantime does anybody have a drawing of the .20 Vartarg case that shows all the dimensions?

If so, could you text, email or pm it?

Thanks!

I don’t have the drawing. But have a couple 20VT rifles. It’s a terrific and under utilized cartridge, in my view. Wish it was commercialized.

Thanks. Sourcing .221 brass has not been easy. Sitting on a pile of .17 Fireball Virgin Cases. Hoping I don't have to neck up to .22 and back to .20 but not sure if a simple pass of my .17 FB cases through the Redding VT dies will work. Have done it on a few and the cases look good, just want to check against chamber specs. My barrel is still on order so have some time.

Thanks!

Med,

I might have a line on 221 Fireball brass, but I am shooting a 17 Fireball...

Would it work if I can line up the 221 brass to do a swap? because I was going to neck this down to 17 Cal.

Also when I built a 20 Practical, all I needed was a $20 die from Hornady, designed just to neck size from 223 to 20 cal...

I just need to dig it out to tell you what to order... I'm sure its not a big mover at places that would carry things like that.

I may consider a swap if it looks like the .17 brass is going to be a pain for the VT. Feel free to PM me the info and we can go from there. Text works also. 406-231-1545

I've only ever used 221 brass......not 17

I do remember using 223 brass to 20 VT

Kinda a PIA labor wise..........

That was 10+ yrs ago when brass was everywhere

Reach out to "mickincolo" here on the fire. He may be able to help you with drawings.
