For me, it would have been some swank place in Toma, Wisconsin, in 1968.

They had a fancy fountain in the lobby. We waited at least a half hour.

The cheapest thing on the menu was a Chef's salad for five dollars.

We left. laugh

The Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong.

The bar at The Waldorf Astoria.

My deer camp.
My new fishing camp.

And those in no real specific order. With Preference presently starting at the bottom, up.

Wifey works for a oilfield service company. I have to escort her to team building dinners a couple of times a year. They go to places like Vic and Anthony’s, Potente, Da Marco, B&B Butchers restaurant. The bill will be over 10,000 for the meal, drinks, etc. Ain’t all that for the price, can cook better steak on my pit. Drinks are 30.00 apiece at those places. I drive so Wifey can have a good time, her company makes money out the ass. If they don’t make 40% off a job, they call it a bad job. They pay people right out of college 90,000, starting engineers 120,000.

Most managers are ex military, Wifey about the only exception. I’m about the only uneducated person there.

Oh wait, I drank a cocktail or 7 at Harry's Bar, Venice, Italy. No idea how much I dropped in there. this was '95?

It's a long story but I spent some time in Italy. Navy sent us to Aviano Air Base, I think pugs was there at some point too.

some fine eating at hole in the wall back country Italian restaurants. But Harry's is where Humphrey Bogart hung out.

One of the fancier old school places in New Orleans, dining with my mother and her aunt. I was nine or ten and learned about the different forks, finger bowls and whatnot.
