Nah, hanco. You’re just educated in things those folks have to hire you to do.

Richard and Judy's place in Wabigoon, Ontario. Food was good, and we got to take the left overs home. The shelty wasn't overly impressed with our visit. smile

French Laundry. Before and after. First time was in the early 80's when it was just local joint. Several times in the 90's after Keller bought it. Never after 2000 the prices just got stupid.

It was a good day indeed, Dwayne. Highest temps since August! We topped out around 73*.
That kind of heat is intolerable! 😆

The Fior D'Italia in San Francisco. I took my prom date there. Full dinner for two, $250.00 plus tip. That was back in 1957. I wonder if that place is still in business. Prom dates were usually taken to Bimbo's 365 Club. Prices were a little more reasonable. Food was good in both places. My favorite place to take a date back the was a little hole in the wall Italian place called Pete's. It was kind of like the place where Micheal Corleone whacked two guys, then split for parts unknown. It had small booths with candle light and curtains for privacy. A really neat place to take a date and the food was outstanding with very reasonable prices. I left San Francisco in 1968 never to return. I wonder if those places even exist anymore?
I liked the Golden OX in KC but the last time I was there I heard it had closed down. That's a shame as they served one hell of a fine steak. These days if I want a decent steak at a reasonable price I go to Cattle Town here in Tucson. Nice place to take a date should I get lucky.

Never been to anywhere nice enough to have to wear a coat and tie.

I’m too cheap i guess.

I’m happy with a Tx roadhouse steak.

I've had some incredible meals in some fantastic places but nothing that would be considered "posh".

Bucket list meal would be a perfectly cooked steak at The Oak Room in NYC. If I don't make it, it's going in my will that some of my ashes be spread at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island by my kids to be followed by that meal for them.

Posh being subjective, the most posh was Lawry's in Chicago.
It was housed in the old McCormick mansion.

Used to be many posh restaurants, unfortunately few passed the test of time.

Back in the 50's, some speaker at a commencement, spent a lot, of time predicting the future would be, "Fine Dinning."

Chrystal goblets, fine china, linen tablecloths, and napkins.

I wonder if he ever went to McDonalds? laugh
