I told my brother I would do some reloading for him for his new Tikka T3X Ultralight 30-06. Usually, this is no big thing, I've been loading for him for many years, but he moved 200 miles away and bought this new rifle about the same time. I need a starting point to set my seating depth and go from there, but I don't have the rifle in hand like usual to set up the reloads. Anyone got this measurement or at least an overall length of factory fodder for me to start with? Going to be loading 180 grain Accubonds if that makes any difference.
BTW, I have shot this rifle and I was seriously impressed. Weighs in at around 5.8 lbs and shoots factory Remington Core loks into an inch first time out... Good ergos and an excellent recoil pad- rumor has it they started putting Decellerator pads on them the last couple years
TIA, Bob

[quote=jwall] Here are 3 Tikka Mags. L for T3 Lite 270 (3 rd) > C for T3 Lite 270 (5 rd) > R for T3X 7 RM ( 3 rd) I purchased in 2018. All loaded with 7 RM rounds: ---------------------------------------------- You can see these rounds are loaded to the MAX oal for Tikka T3 & T3X magazines. That is 3.285" *** However you need to know/find out the throat length of his 30-06. Good Luck Jerry

I'll have to send some dummy rounds with him when he comes down next week for a gathering and have him report back ... or some other arrangement.... If he could find ammo for it now, he would buy it, but 30-06 ammo seems to be about the hardest ammo to find in a store these days.... Bob
