Man that is hard, I love my 1911's, but I love 686 as well

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

1911s for general use, but I'm pretty fond of a 4" 617 Smith for small-game stuff. I've got lots of other stuff, but those fit my wants/needs probably better than anything else.

Probably my current favorite is my Sig P320 compact in .45ACP. It's a bit more than I wanna carry though and my regular rotation includes the Ruger LC9S pro, and a couple of Ruger LCRs...

Working it's way into favor is the 629 4" that I came across a while back. Splendidly accurate and easy to load for. When the holster ordered for it late this past winter arrives it may become a serious contender...

For "seriousness": Colt 1911
For .22 target/plinking: K-22 or Woodsman
For centerfire target/plinking: K-38 or Colt Officer's Model .38

All choices that satisfy my urges. I don't want to "run and gun", will try my damnedest to avoid unpleasant social encounters, don't hunt with handguns, and certainly don't/won't/can't conceal carry. So, the plethora of "modern" highly technically refined combat handguns aren't in my wheelhouse.

Go to for what? EDC it's a P365 with 15rd magazine.
If it's hunting deer sized game it's one of my revolvers from 41 mag to 45 colt. If it's buffalo sized game it's one of my big bore revolver in 475L to 500L or JRH

I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

I'm trying hard to like and justify my cf handguns, but for just a rambling around handgun in these parts it has to be my S&W M34 Armaloy coated .22 with the larger grip set. In southern snake or two legged varmint areas, my favorite is a 12 ounce S&W pre-lock M337 PD .38 Special with either a couple of shot loads or +P Hornady's.

My other auto is a .45

My faves are many. Fave for a trip through violent cities, or another for goin to get a meal in my low crime town.

Variety is the spice.

But, standouts in just the last few years have been a M69 S&W in the bigger bore category, & a Glock 48 for carry.

I have a P90DC handy at home. I switched out the factory pannels for Hogues, and blacked out the white dots on the rear sight. Loaded with WWB 230gr hp's. For me its not a real go-to gun. Although with a lanyard, its great for cold weather outings. Its relaible, but it does have weaknesses. Big, and bulky, and the trigger return spring is not adaquately protected.

I'm apt to grab a small revolver for most things, and a big revolver for occasional things. My 1911 seldom gets carried. Ive never had a modern pistol, but have shot a few. Great tools, but without charm for me.

Favorite is some flavor of Springfield XD, big to small, depending on the need.

Now with even more aplomb
