Have any of you loaded 150 Noslers in a 7-08?
Thinking of using h335 or varget
White tail or mule deer would be the primary game used for.

Big Game works with those, too.

Pharmseller’s load data and field reports cover it well.

150 Eldx for me, no experience with 150 Noslers.

I’ve used both 140 AccuBond and Partition to kill deer, elk, and antelope. Whichever your rifle shoots best.

If you compare velocity figures there’s really not much difference between the 140s and 150s at distance. My Superlite prefers 140 AB, my primary prefers the 150 Eldx. In my experience they kill the same.

I may be missing out, but I only shoot 120’s to 140’s out of my 7mm-08’s. If I feel the need of anything heavier, I use my .308. Just me. I also don’t shoot at game over 250/300 yds. Again, just me.

I run the 150 gr. Nosler Partitions at 7-08 velocities in a 7x57 Winchester M70 Featherweight. That's my antelope, deer and potentially elk load for that cartridge. I can run that same load in a Ruger #1A. Accuracy is quite good in either rifle. Usually MOA or less depending on the rifle.

Where we hunt elk, 300 yards is the minimum. And really, no elk in the world is going to know the difference between a 140 and a 150 out of a 7mm-08. Or a 7mm-08 and a .308, for that matter.

I think you need to use a slower powder. I have shot a lot of 145gr Speer with different loads. Here is a few. PP4000mr, win case WLRM primer, 2.780 OAL

gave 2888FPS with SD of 9.6 it was a great load. Here is a 150gr Speer using RL26 it,s speed was 2868 FPS with WLRM primers 2.780 OAL Also very accurate.

it was a compressed charge. Using Win cases. Used Nosler Long Range 150gr, RL17 gave 2834 FPS 2.800 OAL Win case WLRM primers. Bullets to long for small case

if you ask me. 145gr Speer would be the heavest bullet I would use in the 7mm-08. I believe Hunter should also work but never loaded above 140gr. Good luck.

Yep, or Hunter or H4350 or RL15, but not the powders the op mentioned (H335 and Varget). Varget would work, undoubtedly, but I prefer RL15 over it.

I loaded 162 eldx over 46g h4350 @ 2.800 oal. Was definitley no speed demon but suredropped whitetails in their tracks. The recoil increase wasn't worth it in light sako a7. So went back to 139 interlocks. Imr 4451 closely replicates allh4350 charges for another option.

I use 150 gr NBT's in my 7-08. Ive tried Varget with the 150's and they shot fairly well but then I tried Big Game. That's when they started to shine.

What’s your muzzle velocity?

I load 150gr Ballistic Tips over 41.0gr of Varget in Hornady brass with Fed 210 primers and seated to 2.835" for my M70 Featherweight. My first 4 shot group was .33". Of course I can't do that regularly, but it is a very accurate load for me. I'm at 2675fps from the 22" barrel. Unfortunately I haven't shot any game with it yet.

I shoot Nosler 150s in the 7-08 and the AI version, using RL-17 more than anything else. Though similar in burn rate to H4350, velocities are typically 90-100fps higher for the same charge weight. It gives best results at near max pressure, which is about a full case.

I shot sub Moa groups with a max charge of r-19 and 150 gr partitions out of my 7-08 with a 24” barrel at 2850 FPS. Never shot any game with it since the 120 gr ttsx at 3175 FPS works really well. Wanted to know I could use it for elk if I wanted to.

120 TTSX shoot great for me but can't find them. Try them on elk if I ever get a shot at one.
