That's pretty cool. Any idea on age?

Its not that old. The Brenneke was pretty popular in the Special Regulations Area of SE PA until rounds with sabots became even more popular.

Based on the packaging, I was guessing 1970's. I'll have to do some research

Steve, can you add some pictures of an actual shell please? That might help my searching, I know older German ammo usually had some marks to indicate dates. Thanks.

A world standard for most of the 20th century. I believe upgraded versions are still available, if pricey (and currently scarce--what else is new?).

That's our issue slug (Classic Magnum), but the next batch will be the Green Lightning 1 1/4oz version.

And the .410 Brennecke-type slugs are surprisingly accurate if your popgun has sights. I can put 3 in a 4" circle every time at 40 yards with my Savage Model 24 with scope adjusted for the .22 WRM rifle barrel and the open sights adjusted for the .410.
