I totally agree. Even though I would have gone to Vietnam, as a lot of my peers did, I often think of the sacrifices that they made for the rest of us.

And I give special thanks to my deceased father who served in WW-II and was taken prisoner by the Germans after being seriously wounded by a land mine.
He only took painful steps for the rest of his life!
For 59 years after his injuries he felt pains as he walked!
War is serious business - and many types of wounds are difficult to overcome.
Thanks to ALL veterans living and dead as all their sacrifices are greatly appreciated by me - even the often overlooked sacrifices like being away from home and loved ones while protecting us.
I'll stand while I try to type these last lines.
THANK YOU ALL, for your service.
May God bless you Veterans - one and all.

This is Memorial Day and as such we should thank those who gave their lives so we may live free.
As a combat medic with multiple tours, I have had the opportunity to serve with the truest of American heroes. Those troops that I'm forever grateful for are also the ones who haunt me. I couldn't save them all but I damn sure tried.
RIP brothers and sisters! We owe you more than we could pay several lifetimes over.
Freedom is not free!
