Here is a sample of my feeble attempt at loading a load that the late Jeff Cooper may be proud of.

now remove your 1911 barrel and point muzzle down. drop reach round into the chamber. If each drops in with a "plunk" and seat so the base is level with the breach end, you have a winner.

Is that the 230 grain version of the Saeco 058? That is an excellent bullet out to get the most Mojo from the 45 ACP.

Yes it is. The extra 15 grains weight is in the base plus it is flat base. The extra weight should shift the weight more toward the rear half to help the bullet as far as accuracy.
I hope. Of course with what I do that is a moot point.

Sarge, who casts that bullet for sale?
I use a H&G #68 type 200gr wadcutter. Very accurate, but would like to try a heavier version.

I think Montana bullet works casts the 215 grain version and they are proud of it. I don't have a source for the 230 grain bullet GD is using, pretty sure he is casting them himself.

Nothing "feeble" looking about those. Maybe seat a little deeper. Let us know how they "plunk" and shoot.
I hope to load up some .45 soon.......
