I have been watching for a lightweight in 41 Mag but would take a 45 Colt or at worst a 45 ACP for moon clips. I am not canvassing auction sites but just watching local stores and forums For Sale threads. Thanks and Be Well, RZ.

I found a nice M57 on Guns International. In fact it came today. I do my best to stay away from GB.

For a lightweight .41 mag, I don't see how you can beat that.

I have a 357 PD, as I am a big .41 magnum fan. I like it a lot, but I will say, with full-house 210 grain loads it’s somewhat unpleasant to shoot. Others might disagree, but more and more the joints in my hands and wrists are telling me I’m not as tough as I used to think I was.

As you can see I'm looking for a little brother to the SBH. 41s have always interested me for carry. I won't worry about muzzle flip if I have to use it. I wouldn't want to lose it to the PD on an investigation. But I would rather be alive to make an AAR. Be Well, RZ.

Anyone else with S&W would make an L frame in .41? Seems like a perfect fit. I love my model 69s.

I think S&W is missing the vote by not chambering a 5 shot .41 Mag and a 10mm on the L frame

Only one way. A Taurus Titanium Tracker 4 inch in 41 mag. Yes, less refined than the model 357PD, but more than makes up for it in durability.

I would not shoot 250s out of either. But 210s at 1000 fps are shootable from the Ti Tracker, and 165-170s at 800 fps are simply enjoyable recreation.

My all day every day carry gun for the better part of a decade was 329 (3 of them) - highly recommended for seasoned handgunner. If you reload, you can duplicate any desired .41 mag load - or continue to wait for .41 (which I would grab in a NY Minute). Also have a 329 Alaska Backpacker IV - 2.5" Ti .44 Mag with a stainless cylinder - worthy sibling.

Recently (maybe a yr ago), picked up a 2.5" 41 Mag Taurus Ti Tracker (415 IIRC). Neat little handgun -weighs 21 oz IIRC, but with the funky taurus grips and porting it is not to obnoxious with Grizzly 250gr at a chronoed 1,157 fps but much more docile with 6.9 gr of universal under 215gr CSWCBB at 839 fps.

If you handload, you can make any of these light weights whatever you desire.

Good luck, and enjoy.

The Taurus does not require a cute little flash protector above the cylinder gap to prevent flame cutting the top strap and destroying your revolver like the 357PD requires.

Note: that aforementioned protector piece is prone to falling off or failing. DO NOT fire the gun without it in place.

Not to say the 357 is not a work of art to behold. It is a gorgeous firearm. I still regret not buying the one at Sportsman's Warehouse in Nampa for $700 when I saw it behind the counter.

But the Taurus Titanium is, in every way a more dependable tool, despite the trigger pull. Mine is as accurate as anything in my limited collection.

I'm not likely to ever buy another Taurus as long as I live. Their Customer Service was crap. But Be Well, RZ.

Flame cutting is way over rated, since it will stop rather quickly with the carbon build up

Sure, on a steel frame revolver.

The Smith model 357 is not a steel frame revolver. Shooting the Smith Scandium frame revolvers without the flash gap protector will destroy the frame.
