Patent was granted May 4th. Its making some noise over on the HKPro forum. It will be months until it comes out, but my excitement is growing!

Think I’ll just stick with the Sig P365.

H&K!

Let's see.
Maybe, just maybe, they will offer it to civilians.
You know, us pieces of unworthy crap.
They really don't like us much.

But, if we are willing to give them about 150% of what a top
quality competitor gets. They just might let us have a few.

If you want one, buy it quick.
They swap models out about as often as Larry Root
changes names.

All a darn shame really.
They make good stuff.

Very impressive on their part; must be some real geniuses on their product development staff.
Let Sig do the work and copy. Must be Chinese.

"Frankly, as long as it is 8 shots or more I will buy it. I really don't care if it beats the HellShield or whatever in capacity. I want an H&K quality everyday carry micro-nine. The only micro nine I have trusted is the shield Gen2 (non+). Why? because Smith had worked out the kinks ( and the shield had issues when it arrived on scene). Watching people dump money into SIG garbage guns because they held a few more rounds was hilarious. The reason I buy H&Ks is because they are the one company left that I trust to deliver a product that is absolutely ready for use. Even when I prefer the features of other guns I will gravitate towards H&Ks because they don't beta test their guns on the public."

Cool. I've settled on the S&W M&P Shield Plus, however. I think that's the sweet spot with this concept.

So it looks like they patented "The ornamental design for a handgun, as shown and described." A gun that looks like every other small striker-fired gun? What's their plan, sue Sig and Taurus for producing guns that they stole the appearance of for their patent? Curious.

I've used MP5s, the P7, the USP and the 91. They're all excellent guns and if HK made something I wanted, I'd buy it with confidence. I've never seen a bad Sig, but I have seen and some exceptional ones. With rare exceptions (Sigma 380 and compact nine) even S&W's pedestrian models are top-tier guns.

I can give a fella some brand preference, but groupies and haters sound like seventh graders arguing about which fat girl on the field trip bus is the hottest.

I can't think of anything a little 9mm could do to get me away from my 365. For me, anyway, the 365 is about the perfect concealed carry pistol.

Agreed. Except that I’ll say it’s the perfect “SMALL” concealed carry pistol.
