I was surfing the online Cabela's Gun Library and a Parker Brothers GH 16 gauge #1 frame showed up. Manufactured in 1897 this one had excellent 28" Damascus pattern with wonderful original finish. There was some remaining case color also and the Dog's Head butt-plate. I used "speed dial" and had the gun shipped to my local Cabela's. The bores are shiny and without flaw and measure exactly modified. They priced it at $1499.99...yup, I just love their pricing (sometimes). I received the letter from PGCA confirming the configuration. Please excuse me, I had already posted a thread about this shotgun. Getting old can be interesting.

Finding an old Parker in this condition isn't impossible just close. Finding one like this with a price like this one is nearly impossible. Sometimes you just get lucky. I hope my streak can continue.

Last time I got a deal like that, the salesman got fired the next day. That's the nicest Parker I've seen in years.

But, But, But it has those unsafe Damascus barrels! LOL!!!!

Loaded up a few brass cases with 2-1/2 Drams FFG & 1 oz. of shot. The primer pockets are too small, had to swage them (PITA).

I named a son ‘Parker’, back when I was a dirt poor infantry NCO, and thought that’d be the only way I’d ever be able to get one. 22yrs later, looking better for being possible, but the pickings are getting hell for slim. Good for you.

Gorgeous! I find it a pain to load short 16 shells, but could be worth it to launch some soft ones thru that beauty!
