Is the bottom metal on C grades steel or the same bottom metal used on a BDL?

The bottom metal on later C-grades is a PT&G unit made of steel.

A 1969 C next to a 1978 BDL. A couple differences at a quick glance, the hinge is contoured and fit a lot nicer on the C.

Wish I was right-handed...I'd have a half-dozen of them. Lefty C-grades are mucho hard to find.

And metal seems to be the same on the earlier ones, according to a magnet, doesn't stick. Just finished a little better.

Thanks! The Dream is to have a few more left-handed C-grades...but I'd be happy with one more in .30-06 or .270.

I'd love to find another lefty...270 would work. This one is a .25-06.

There is a 300 H&H C grade on GunBroker, but they want 3000.00 for it. I’m not going to pay that.
