And here I had been having such a good day - sigh.

On a related note: coming back from CR there was a tractor with a rake pulled off of the east-bound lanes of 30 into the center ditch. The tractor was completely burned up and the front of the rake was blackened as well.

That’s beautiful green hay!

My hay guy was getting fertilizer down a week ago. Things are later and slower here.

That appears to be a good sized hay field with a good crop of hay.
Pure alfalfa?

I was always told that, "It was a good feeling to have hay IN the barn."

Ahhh - the smell of curing hay- the same as 50 years ago!

8N Ford (no live PTO), 7' sickle mower, bumblebees.

Steel wheel 4 bar side delivery rake. (or a sulky rake if the hay was real thin)

AC roto baler pulled by 8N or B JD (no live PTO)

Lowboy hay trailer, hay hooks, leather gloves, water jug

Putting up hay today is easier than it used to be

I did a lot of that back in the 1960s. Don’t miss it a bit.

There's nothing I dislike more than, putting up hay, mowing, raking, bailing, moving, and stacking, it SUCKS, and i've done way more than my share. putting square bales in the barn, really sucks, stacking round bales with a tractor ain't bad, but it's still haying. Rio7
