I want to mount a Burris FF 3 on my 20 gage Benelli Cordoba and I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations.
Has anyone used the Burris SpeedBead and what do you think about it?
My FF came with Picatinny / Weaver mount. One option would be adapting a Weaver base to the top of the receiver but I'm thinking that would that place the FF too high.
The last option would be milling the top of the receiver. I'd prefer not to do that but I would consider it if that turns out to be the best option.
I do use the gun for clays and waterfowl so removing the sight would be necessary.
Suggestions?
Options?

Does your Benelli have a flat on top of the receiver? Might be able to just drill and tap and use a 336 mount. That is about as low of a mount that I know of.
I understand you using your gun for other things, but years ago I went ahead and set up a "turkey only" shotgun or 2 and have never regretted it. (just a thought)
To answer your first question, I have not used a SpeedBead mount.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Sumtoy and Truglo offer low/inset rib mounts that get lower than a receiver mount

I've got Speed beads on two of my 870s. Love them.

I don't think that is an issue with a red dot like it can be with a scope.

Speed bead is the best option....no reason to consider any other mount.
Simple to.install and the red sight easily comes off and the speed bead mount does not effect your sigh plane when wing shooting.

Thanks guys! I'll give it a try.
I saw a post on another site that a particular SpeedBead for another Benelli would also fit the 20 gage Cordoba with no modifications.

I just did that. I ended up sending them an email through their website. They say a response will take a couple of days. We'll see!

Good idea! I just checked that out and can't find the mount for the 20 gage M2. I did find the mount for the 12 gage M2. Hopefully the footprint is the same or close and can be modified to fit.

A 12' gauge mount is not close enough to be modified.
The part number you need is 410687 Benelli M2 20-Gauge

The part number you need is 410687 Benelli M2 20-Gauge Burris just responded and said they did not make one for the Cordoba 20. I'll try to find a 410687 on line. BTW Thanks for your help.

The Meadow Creek rib mount will be a better option. They are ROCK solid.

If you're on facebook check out Gobbler Nation, and those Apex Ammunition forum page and check out all the guns with red dots mounted with Meadow Creek mounts.
