Wife, MIL, SIL, etc. If he tripped and hit his head, it would be my fault if I didnt get the shot.........get it? I agree with you and resisted and argued to no avail long enough.
Takes 2 weeks for a vaccine to be effective and no vaccine is 100% effective for prevention, but will lessen severity.
Sorry to hear about your bro and I have my own misgivings about it, but this has nothing to do with the vaccine.

And that’s after you’ve waited 4 weeks to get your second dose.
"Pfizer vaccine is 95% effective two weeks after the second dose."
There's no way to prove that and Pfizer wasn't making that claim before their vaccine got emergency approval. I just read that our soldiers were given flu vaccines in WWll but after a study was done in 1944 that showed they didn't prevent flu infections the military stopped giving them. In spite of the 1944 study flu vaccines were approved for use on the general population in the USA in 1945.
At age 78 I've never had the flu or a flu vaccine so in my case NOT getting a flu vaccine has been 100% effective. Why take an experimental vaccine that claims to be only 95% effective?
I was talking to a nice young lady at Home Depot's customer service yesterday when I picked up an order. I was having trouble understanding what she saying because she was wearing a mask and was behind plexiglass. I told her I didn't mind if she removed her mask so I could hear her better and she did. She don't worry I've been vaccinated and I told her I wasn't worried. Turns out she has a college basketball scholarship and had to get the shots before she would be allowed to practice or play. She didn't want to take the vaccine. NOBODY should be forced to take experimental drugs for any reason.

Yet vaccinated 4 days ago is not a test to the effectiveness of the vaccine. Roughly 45 days after 1st vaccination 15 days after the 2nd vaccination we may expect near full effect of the vaccination. Depending on meds the vaccinated are taking, as some Immunosuppressive meds will not allow the vaccine to be effective.
Another coworker had it so bad he was in intensive care and almost bought it. He was an avid runner, marathoner, etc. That was around Christmas and he still hasn’t regained enough lung capacity to be able to come back to work, which isn’t physical at all.
I’m beginning to suspect that a friend of mine had a vaccine related heart episode that caused his death instead of the official drowning it was ruled. I could go into much detail about it, but simply suffice it to say nothing about his death makes sense except falling out with a heart attack first. And he had recently taken the vaccine.
