Have a general use .30-06 bolt rig w a VX3i 3.5-10X on it. Wondering if the Steiner GS3 2-10X is a worthy upgrade?

Can't give any advice one way or the other but my first question is why? Do you want to dial? Do you need less magnification on the low end? Are you looking for better glass?
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

What would you like for a new scope to do for you that the current one doesn't?

Better glass. Maybe dial some, but am cool w set and forget.
Rifle is a Steyr ProHunter. So was just thinking maybe slap something nicer on it.
Guess the Steiner GS3 is made in USA....dunno if a rebadged Burris or what.

I am familiar with the GS3 50mm model.I don't think it is enough of an upgrade over the Vx3I glass wise. I think it is more ruggedly constructed and hence weighs more . See if you can find a Zeiss Conquest DL , I had one on a Steyr Prohunter and it is better glass then the Steiner or Leupold and it never had a hiccup.
