Father's day and black sheep of the family.
I will nominate the half brother who punched out his 90 year old year father the night before the half sister's wedding.

also knew a guy in the USARMY who invited his father to his wedding, and hadnt seen him in years. After the wedding his father told him he was happy for him but to never contact him ever again

My liberal, deadbeat, freeloading brother I guess is the black sheep of our family. I always just thought he was a POS. I hear he's supposedly dieing from all the drugs and drinking. We're blessed to be raising his 15 yo son and hopefully can keep him going in the right direction.

Little brother owed my parents a bundle for paying for his first two divorces and various other debts.Then accused us of spending too much of dads money while we were caring for him in our home.He was happy to accept his equal share of the inheritance while telling everyone in town how my father was mistreated by us.He's a miserable little bastard.

Nobody in my family will speak to me so I’ve never been able to figure it out.

I suppose it’s me. Everybody else went to college and are learned people but I’ve always beat to a different drum. I’m just oilfield trash but I’m oilfield trash living my own life while my sister and BIL are living with my parents with their two kids. Me and my 7 year old son and our dog just keep rockin along. Trying to teach him that slow and steady wins the race.

Only one I can think of on either side of the family would be the great uncle I never even knew existed until I was in my mid 30's. He was my maternal grandmothers older brother by 3 years, got into the booze heavy in his younger days and eventually became a homeless wino. I guess he got estranged by everyone in the family and they never even mentioned him. He passed out in an alley one night when I was 8 years old and never woke up. My grandfather ( his brother in law) was the one who went down and identified the body. Although the family must have paid for his burial because he didn't get buried in one of those sections of a cemetery where those guys usually wind up.

That would be me. Every male in my family on both sides, went onto be professionals, doctors, lawyers on my mother's favorite "engineers." When I left home and joined the Navy, EVERY TIME I went home my mother (rest in peace) would remind me of my cousin A or B, C etc being lawyer, doctor, etc. One day I looked at her at quipped: "yeah, but "ma" none of them are certified to carry..AND DROP nuclear weapons... She never brought the subject up again.

and it is generational. My dad's first cousin Oscar fell in love with a waitress in Havana in 1940. Just not cricket old boy, so his dad sent him to Chicago School of Medicine where he became an MD (eventually an OBGYN). WWII breaks out an he joins the Army and goes to europe. After the war, he was stationed (and paid out0 in or near Sheridan Wyoming and that is where he stayed, practiced, raised a family and hunted (he hooked me up with the Africa bug) until his dying day. I remember in the 50s he would come to Havana to visit with his kids (my age) all girls who spoke only English, but thankfully we all spoke English even back then...His mom and dad always chastised him too for leaving the fold

Slummy was he the one in NW Misery, parked at my neighbor's house, Tenn. license plates??? Woke me up when I was doing nights at corrections. Wanted to demo a Kirby. I kept being polite and finally when he made it onto my last nerve I let the 6" 357 revolver in my right hand fall forward from behind my back and he realized I was tired of his game. He says I see you are kind of busy and back pedaled off my porch. I had kept saying I was kind of busy. He spooked me as I didn't know him, he parked next door, with an out of state license, and I worked in corrections. I might be the guy to leave alone. Had he made a move toward, instead of away from me I would have given him air conditioning for free. As it was about 22 years ago I would be out by now even if charged and convicted. Glad we now have the Castle Doctrine, glad to be free. Be Well, RZ.

I guess that would be me. Everyone always said I would never amount to anything. Guess I proved them wrong although they'd never admit it.

I started at the bottom and happened to like it there.

Today I asked one of my coworkers how his Fathers Day was, and he shrugged his shoulders. About an hour later he vented to me that his wife's sister and husband showed up to his BBQ and about 20 minutes after they showed up he walked into the kitchen and they were trying to get a large loan from his wife so they could pursue some kind of get rich quick scheme. He said he lost it and told them both to leave and he wasnt nice about it. He told me the husband has never had a job the whole time he has known him and the SIL supports him. Later on his neighbor came over and asked him if everything was ok, as he is a peaceful man and seldom raises his voice.
