Handled one of these yesterday.

Does anyone have any experience, comments on them. Been looking for a 16g for awhile and this one seems to be the best handling and fitting for me. Jus want to makes sure they are no issues with these shotguns.

Bought one last fall

Decent gun. I got the one without the engraving. Came with 3 flush mounted tubes. I bought extended tubes in Cyl, IC, and M.

Found a couple flats of Fiocchi #8 game and target and shot a bunch of skeet with it prior to grouse season.

Its a very light gun. Best I could get on skeet were 23s.

That being said, its NOT designed to be a target gun and it is a joy to grouse hunt with. I use Federal hi brass 1 1/8 oz loads in 7.5 with the IC in the bottom and M in the top.

Also got some Federal 15/16 oz steel 4's and killed some ducks on a creek near by. Used the same duck bullets on a rabbit hunt when I forgot to pack some lead 6's.

I am happy with it.

I would hold out for a used Browning Citori Lightning in 16 ga.

I seem to recall that the Franchi Instinct SL(x) is actually made by F.A.I.R. to Benelli/Franchi's specs.

I've handled both the Franchi and F.A.I.R. in 16ga. My preference is for the F.A.I.R. For whatever reason is seems a little more 'svelte' and 'nimble'. Waiting on a Browning Citori Grade 1 Hunter to show ujp at the LGS (late Aug ship date). If the Browning doesn't pan out, meaning it handles like a club, I may have to search out a F.A.I.R. SLX600 in 16ga.
