Grassroots in Action: COS Georgia stamps out anti-Article V resolution in Cobb County

You may have heard that the Cobb County, Georgia,
Republican party was considering a ridiculous resolution that called an Article V Convention of States "disastrous" and "unnecessary." It
parroted the leftist propaganda that a Convention of States could "run away," and it fearmongered about "tearing apart the Constitution" and eliminating the 1st and 2nd Amendments.
Georgia was one of the first states to pass the Convention of States Resolution, but our team there is still active and passionate about defending self-governance and protecting the state's Article V call. They weren't going to stand for such blatant lies and misinformation from the Cobb County GOP, so they sprang into action.
They put out a call to action for COS Georgia volunteers to "turn up and turn out."
"It is time to let the Cobb County Republican Party know that we are here, and we are not going away. We see what they are doing," they said.
They asked volunteers to attend the morning meeting in Cobb County, and over 30 patriots descended on the small building where the meeting was to take place.
"Our numbers practically dwarfed the size of the Cobb County GOP building," the Georgia team reported. "Many of the members were curious and surprised at just how many people were standing outside the building when they arrived. Some appeared happy to see us exercise our First Amendment rights and to make new friends, while others shuffled in with heads bowed down as if they did not want to be seen in a rather pitiful manner."
Then the real fun began. The GOP officials supposedly worried about the building's capacity, so they actually locked the doors and wouldn't let the COS patriots inside (apparently, after the meeting began and the doors remained locked, a few of the GOP members weren't able to get in either!).
Shortly after the meeting began, the police showed up. Our COS volunteers believe their huge numbers had the GOP "a little jumpy."
"We are not sure if they were expecting Antifa or some Molotov-cocktail-chucking-anarchists, but our Grassroots Coordinator had a lovely conversation with one of the officers in which she introduced herself and assured him that it’s literally in our bylaws to be polite and respectful," they reported. "If there were going to be any problems it would be coming from the GOP Republicans inside the building. Both of them got a good chuckle out of that."
After the police left, the day wasn't quite over. The Cobb County GOP still had to vote on the anti-Article V resolution. Because they weren't allowed inside, our volunteers don't know exactly what was said, but their presence outside the building seems to have done the trick: the party voted against the anti-Article V resolution!
"We want to send a big thank-you to all the Convention of States supporters who showed up on May 29 at the Cobb GOP Headquarters and to those who reached out to Cobb Republicans expressing their support of Convention of States. You all are amazing!" the COS Georgia team said.
We couldn't agree more.
