Well I pulled the trigger on a new SR5 Premium. I know old school design , thirsty engine but I love them!
Had one yrs back put over 200,000 miles on her without a hiccup.
Anyone have one ? How you like it ?

I have a 2008 with 250K trouble free miles. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Very sure footed and maneuverable vehicle.

Lots of other reviews too. We want one and used ones are available, but not cheap. They hold their value. Wish they got better gas mileage for their size, but they keep on truckin forever it seems

Super neat looking rigs. There's one avail locally in green, roof rack etc. I need a bed or I'd be all over it.

2017 TRD OR Premium with KDSS, 55k miles on it. Kept track of mileage through an app for the first 30k and averaged 21.4 overall. I've had 4.0 Tacomas, 3.5 Tacomas, and a 5.7 Tundra and like this more then all of them.

The Runner is better out of the box than the 460/470 platform for off road duties and cheaper to drive but the GX is a better value used, it is rather thirsty to drive (own both the 460-17 & 470-05) but are dead nuts reliable, the 05 has 340,000 on the clock and is still driven every day, still a good vehicle.

4 runners IMO with the 4.0 have a better drivetrain than the new 3.5 in the Taco, have friend with both and I'm not a fan of the new 3.5.

biggest difference in the runner and GX is overall build quality and bells and whistles, GX has more headroom but both share the same basic platform

My 2018 sr5 4wd shows 19.8 mpg on the display after 51k miles. Ive never hit the reset on that since driving it off the lot new. Very happy with the ride.

Got it 2 weeks ago....lm very happy with the purchase.
Avg 18.9 mpg on first tank of gas. Only had 2 miles on the odometer when I picked it up .
After some break in we shall see if the mpg hold.
Still too new to take wheeling other than up my rutted lane to the house.
Thanks for sharing everyone !!

4runners.com is a good site to hangout at for all generations of 4runner info.

My best gas mileage is cruising at or below 2k rpm.....which is one reason I try to avoid interstates whenever I can.

I kept my 2018 on fuely for 40000 or so miles, I was at 21. I got new heavier truck tires and mileage went down to about 20. Hopefully they get a new transmission in the new generation. Like mine though.

I had a 2015 Trail Premium that I really loved, when my daughter got old enough for her own car I knew she needed reliable quality, so I passed it to her 2 years ago. She loves it and is driving the wheels off it, I really miss it.

I been thinking.....

I also have a 21 SR5. It has synthetic oil and they’re telling me not to change for 10,000 miles. Anyone done that? Thinking first oil might have some metal from break in.
