is the fire control group for an AR10 the same as a an AR15/16 fire control group?

Should be. I have examples of the oldest design (Armalite AR10) and one of the newer renditions (S&W performance center) and I have ran triggers from my AR15's in both of them..

As others have stated, the trigger, sear, hammer, 2 springs & 2 pins ARE the same.

FYI, the front (pivot) and rear (takedown) pins are NOT the same. The buffer tube IS the same, but the buffer spring & buffer weight are NOT the same (AR-15 vs AR-10)

Lastly, the bolt catch is slightly different, between AR-15s and AR-10s, AND slightly different between Armalite type AR-10 lowers, and other (DPMS style) AR-10 lowers.

Basically, AR-15s = standardized. AR-10s = not standardized

thanks for the responses--I was told by my smith that an AR fire control group refers to the trigger,disconnect,hammer and the selector
