Here's a few fish the wife and I have put in the boat here in the last little bit. She also discovered lures made for gar and decided to give them a whirl while I muskie fish. It works out, because it gives her something to do instead of just watching as she has little to interests in muskies.

She hammered a couple of nice bass too on her favorite lure of all time.....the original floating rapala.

Nice, real nice. Did your better half whack that gar with a boat paddle? Or just let him go? Speaking of which is that the old Gheenoe or the new one? You weigh any of those fish? You know none of my fishing partners ever looked that nice you should count your blessings on a hourly basis. Mb

Nah we let all fish go. Haven't ever kept a single one.

That's the old gheenoe. Still waiting on the new one.

I use to measure the muskies, but have since stopped. Unless of course I thought it would break the 50" mark....then I'd measure it. Never weighed anything either. Don't even own a scale.

I'm very fortunate to say the least. Best of all..... she puts up with it.

How far out is the new boat? Time wise that is , seems like everything is backed up these days. I've an old Evinrude I been working on needs atleast a new fuel pump. So I pulled the troll motor off and put it on my 16" alumcraft and fired up the 35 Johnson on it .will go for a test spin this AM. Mb

It's due anytime. I was originally quoted May, then it got pushed back to late June. I received an email a couple weeks ago telling me it's in the final stages of rigging and they have been getting them finished in about 2 weeks. Hopefully soon. The old boat will still get some use though. Couple places are pretty rough on putting a boat in and it's my beater.

Best of luck testing it out.......alumacraft makes a great boat. I've had 3.

Wish I could help. I'm not mechanically inclined.....at all.

Do the pike get big at all where you're at or are the hammer handles the norm?

Ky those hammer handles are just last years crop. Some come thru the ice over 20 lbs.
Some guys I know of who are pro fly fisherman take some every spring in the 10-20 lb range. Pactola reservoir which produces nice brown, rainbows and lake trout. The rainbows are the only GFP stocked fish in the lake. Mb

I think I'd like sightfishing for big shallow water pike.
