Why would you need a separate cylinder? Assume your talking about an Anaconda and 44 Spcl ammo should fit in it.

Congrats. I owned one for a long time. Never had a Special cylinder. They are a fine gun. Don't be a fool and trade it off like I did.

Hopefully I won’t. I do want to find a .357 with short barrel and have it rebored to .38-40 or 10mm, or both

Would the 10mm be too hot for the Colt 3rd Gen Frame ?

Several gunsmiths have converted them to .41 Mag. Right now I have Harton rechambering a .357 cylinder to 10mm for a Taylor’s Cattleman .38-40 he is doing some other work on.

Several very good places that can make one.... you likely have to send them the gun so it can be fitted, and the good places usually have a long wait list

Found one! Peacemaker Specialist have 1 in stock but it is the last they have and are having difficulty getting anything from Colt at the moment. I don’t really want a $795 cylinder so I am going to pass on that one!

I am 99% sure a Uberti cylinder will work in your Colt. My son's Uberti cylinder drops right into my Colt, and chambers align with a .45 cal alignment rod. I don't need to, but I wouldn't hesitate to fire it.
