Yes, I could live with only a 30-06 and be VERY content and happy!

The grand old 30-06 is EXCELLENT!

Well I would have bought more but I ran out of money after I put Leupold scopes and McMillan edge stocks on them all as required at the time.

My dad's sporterized 30-06 using 150 gr factory ammo.....Not gonna take away any virtues from the good 'ol 30-06. For most it is the only cartridge they need. No need to prove ya wrong there R Bobby because I have no case.to make against the 30-06 nor would I want to try and make a case against it.

I wonder!......Are all you 30-06 owners gonna put all of your non 30-06 rifles up for sale??? Afterall, a 30-06 is all ya need. Right?....LOL!

Well my 30-06 has never failed me but my first and second distraction the 270 and 7x57 haven't either. I have given up on the one cartridge does all scam and need 20 or so specialized cartridges to do the same thing I used to do with a 30-06 and a 223.

I'll do everything I need with my 7-08

Had several 06's - they're okay. If I need more than the 7-08, likely a 30-06 isn't enough so I doubt I'll have another.

If i stuck with one caliber, it would most likely be 338-06. Its my "go to" for most game animals short of elk and it would work for elk if I didnt use a 338 WM. I have several 30-06's, just like the 338-06 better.

Someone here on the fire once said "Why doesn't anybody panic buy 30-06 ammo? Because a man with a 30-06 doesn't panic" wink I actually do not own a 06 currently but I have and its a hard cartridge to say anything bad about. But when you guys decide to sell all of your "non 30-06" rifles just let me know!!

It takes a lot of years for some guys fiddling with a bunch of different rifles in different chamberings to come to that conclusion

Yep the 30-06 is about as perfect an all-around hunting cartridge as there is, I always keep at least one in My safe, latey I have been toying with the idea of another T3x Superlite (Sportsmans warehouse version) chambered in 30-06 👍........Hb

Yep. Even though I haven't remotely done the amount of big game hunting that some here have.
Was my first rifle, still have it. After 35 years have some others that might be better suited in certain situations, but the other 90% of the time, no.
When it's time to pare down a couple or three 06's will finish me for the distance

I’ve killed every species of game in Alaska short of musk ox and bison with a. 30-06. I’d rather have a 300wm though if I had to pick one.

From my own experience here it is less than ideal for our buffalo at one end of the scale, and less than ideal for rabbits, hares and foxes at the other. Not much good for gamebirds or ducks either, come to that. It could therefore never really be all I need. However for game between those, like goats, pigs and our several species of deer, it does a great job. I've had at least one for the past 40 years, and a light little Browning in this chambering is one of my favourite hunting rifles.

Yes, Mr. Dan

At one time I had 5 30-06s then went for a period of time without ONE. It's is just too versatile and patriotic 'here' to
NOT have one.

I sure have had fun and killed a bunch of game, WT, Fox, Coyotes, even Crows with many other cartridges.

I'd miss having OPs to use others, SO I have others.

The old ‘06 is probably one of the most versatile rounds ever.

But talk of just one round isn’t Loony.

I have a couple of ‘06’s, but a safe full of diversity.

Choosing one at the exclusion of others may be interpreted as racist.

We just can’t go there; it’s not PC.
