Roundup isn’t meant for brushy stuff. Evidently it will work based on some experiences above, but there are specific brush killers that will do a better job.

This is the cheap and easy way to nuke most anything, poison ivy included. A little dishwashing soap as mentioned helps it as a surfactant.

An form of tricloper works great. Always add some form of detergent/surfactant to assist in wetting out the surface.

What is this magical 2,4 D concoction you speak of? I must have some.

Okay .... today I am on a mission to locally source 30% vinegar. Why am I this old and never knew such a thing existed? Seems to me it would be the best way to store pickling vinegar for the apocalypse. Just dilute it when needed.

Crossbow?

I am now convinced that Dawn dishwashing liquid is something sent from the gods. Helps to kill poison ivy. Diluted it makes great hand soap. It disinfects dishes and cuts grease. It does a bang-up job on tumbled brass too.

Least I know what 2,4 D is

You must really live a sheltered life in your single wide trailer.

Get some dye too. It helps you know where and where not you've sprayed. A little bit is all you need.

Vinegar only kills the foliage. It doesn’t get transported to the root, for a complete kill.

Again, triclopyr....

It’s pretty safe if used close to other trees (not much spread), but don’t get much on them.

Generic roundup and generic brush killer from tractor supply, mixed 50-50, will usually kill down to bare dirt.

Guess I haven't spent as much time in the fields pickin' cotton and learnin' my herbicides as you, apparently.

And it's a stacked extra wide ... bitch. With no poison ivy in sight.

Thanks for the pics of the 2, 4 D btw. Very helpful. Much appreciated.
