Ordered one of Hank’s full size Canadian Skinner models and was fortunate that he had Westinghouse Micarta for the scales. You guys know I love that stuff. I also asked him to try and preserve as much “bark” as possible, taper the tang and add thin red liners. Guys how awesome is this?

I do the heat treating myself. I don’t send it off for ht. It was hardened and triple tempered, resulting in a hardness of 60.5 Rockwell. Thank you for the kind words Chris. Hope you get her bloody! Sure. My first Canadian skinner was the small version. Folks took to the design pretty quick. Soon afterwards I began receiving requests for a larger version. I took my pattern and enlarged it by 15% in my office copy machine. The larger one has a 3” blade. That larger version has been my biggest seller the last, oh, 7-8 years. Recently I have received requests to retain the large version’s handle size but lengthen the blade to about 3 1/4”. That small change has been well liked too!
