When was the last time you either plowed, or even saw plowing?

The last I did was plowing away from fencelines.

I keep cultivators on the cub and plow the garden with it. I did use a turning plow to plow terraces a few times, but that was years ago. As a youngster, while living in NE Louisiana, I saw Granddad use a 2 bottom turning plow on the fields. Pulled it with an old Farmall. There is no row crop agriculture where I live now. I've got an old horse drawn middle buster and turning plow. Need to put handles on them.

Never did see any of those big rigs plowing, just videos.

I grew up in west central Ks in the 1960s. Never saw a plow in use, but there were a few laying around in old farmsteads. In that area in the 50s and 60s farmers use a device called a “one way.” It was a gang of discs, 20” or so in dia, pulled at an angle. It produced results similar to a plow.
In the late 60s most farmers in that area converted to implements that skimmed along under the soil surface about 4”, cutting off weed roots and loosening the soil a bit. This reduced moisture evaporation a lot, which is almost alway very important there.

last time I ran a moldboard plow was probably 1982 in Polk County, MN. I don't remember a specific, recent instance, but believe I observed a field that had been plowed with a moldboard plow <2 years ago in Rice County, MN.

Three months ago I saw a muck farmer running a 6 bottom rollover across from the slaughterhouse in Hudsonville.

30 some odd years ago.

Plowed a wheat/oat field with one.

Now my offset disk is about as invasive as I get.

Twice in the same year.

I bought a farm with 150 plus acres of CRP. and turned it over. A neighbor was combining oats and combine caught fire and I put a fire break around it.

I helped my cousin plow three years ago, he was using modern John Deere equipment and I was on my 1956 Allis Chalmers WD45 with an Allis snap coupler hitch plow. He got a kick out of the antique machinery. My uncle at 88 years of age came to see the spectacle also. That Allis equipment still could plow a nice furrow. Just not as many acres per hour as the new stuff.

Every couple years.

Roll a 7 acre piece with an IH 584 and 3x16 to either do turnips or clover. Just play farming. But I absolutely LOVE watching good soil roll !!!

Common here.
More so for rotation than repeat crops now though.

Still standard on small places.
They ain't buying huge tractors and toolbars to work 80 acres.
The old tractors from the 70's and back do the work.

Not unusual to hear PUTT, PUTT, PUTT.

No, it's how moldskin is produced.
