A question for you Remington 700 experts around the campfire. Is the barrel contour of the Mountain rifle the same as the Gen 1 Titanium barrel contour? I haven't owned a Titanium in a couple of years, but this Mountain rifle barrel is very thin and seems (from memory) to be almost identical to the Titanium. Anyone? Thanks in advance for your comments!

I have owned/used many Mod 700 Mountain Rifles through the years, all were finicky, several I could not make shoot. While, at the time, I never considered Cryo Treating, or even knew of if back. I "have" had several rifles Treated, many with Thin barrels and "all were improved". $100 to 300 Below and you will stop that thin barrel from "walking". I never saw any benefit to stop fouling, etc, but many did. My main desire was to relieve the stress. Good luck to you Pard. Rev Jim

Just throwing this out there. I don't remember measuring a TI barrel, but I did measure the barrels on a couple mountain guides, which I thought were TI barrels. They were all smaller than typical mnt rifle contours.
