Thinking of buying an AR rifle. I shoot left handed. Is that a problem with these style rifles in the right handed versions???

Stag Arms makes left handed complete ARs. Some other companies might as well, don't know. Like everywhere else, lots of stuff on their site is sold out and it is a waiting game to find anything in stock.

Not at all. I think the right handed rifles work better for lefties than for righties.

Not a problem at all. Just buy a right hander. Just make sure its not a smooth side upper. You need the upper with built in shell deflector, which most are now days. I used to have a left handed stag. Great rifle, but not necessary for the left handed shooter. Set up your right handed ar with all ambi controls and a bad lever and you are good to go. JMHO.

Some of us are lucky that we have shops close by with rifles in stock. Yes, even left handed stags. Prices have also come back down to reasonable, instead of ridiculous.

I am in the process of putting together a LH AR for my boys to use. Bought a stripped lower and BCG from Stag and am going from there. I realize that a RH AR would have worked, but opted for one that fit them more appropriately.

Theres no difference in "fit". Like Tyrone said, a right handed ar has its advantages. A right hander wouldnt know, especially one that hasn't been in some sort of competition with one. No harm in buying your boys one, but if you ever decide to sell it, its not going to be as easy to sell as a right hander. Also when shooting both right and left handed ar's in a session, you have to police your brass on both sides of the bench.

No problem. I'm left handed and all of my guns except for one are right handed. I have two right handed AR's. The only thing you might consider is putting in an ambidextrous safety that has the switch on both sides. In my case, I just learn how to handle them left handed.

I am left handed and shoot left hand uppers from RedX or Stag. I shoot right hand lowers. I also have a completely ambi lower from San Tan Tactical.

No need IMO for a left hand lower.

I like the left hand upper to keep the brass from ejecting in front of my right eye.

Most right handed high power shooters are using BAD levers now. Being left handed the bolt release is on the correct side.

The bad lever is also easier to use for a lefty. Just sayin. I even had one on my lefty stag:

A Stag would be nice, but mine are stock except for ambi safeties and ambi charging handles. Could actually have done without the charging handles.

You are probably right in that regard. I probably could have done without as well, but the Raptor's are nice..

No problem at all. Just a little adaptation required. Hundreds of miliary folk shoot left-handed. About the only thing you need to do to increase your efficiency of operation is to swap out your stock safety for an ambidextrous one. I've found that the safeties from Wilson Combat drop right in and haven't run across one yet that has any fit or finish issues. I also have an ambidextrous charging handle on mine, either a Radians or Strikefire, I don't remember which. But the truth be told, the forward assist sort of interferes with the ambi part of the ambi charging handle.

Sig is making an AR pistol now that comes stock with all ambi controls.
