There was recently a thread regarding variations in Barnes bullets. I also noticed a potential buyer in the classifieds asking the seller if all bullets were from the same lot. Who here has experienced a lot to lot problem with recently manufactured TTSXs?

Most of my rifle shooting over the years has been with Sierra or Hornady cnc bullets and have not had problems with consistency. My Barnes experience is limited so I'm looking for some insight.

Regarding POI, accuracy, or velocity?

I have been shooting Barnes bullets since 1994., the X bullet. Now shoot the TSX/TTSX. Just as accurate as ever. If lot to lot makes a difference in accuracy I haven;t seen it. Sub 1/2" groups are common .

There is lot to lot variation on ALL bullets. Dies that form the shape of the bullets wear and ogival length increase. A bullet comparator will clearly show this

I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

I assume that the original post referred to an ogive difference and the way that it negates attempts at recording die settings for repeatability.

Exactly this.

So just measure the ogive length on the new lot to insure consistent jump to lands and they should perform as expected?
