I like bourbon a lot, but I always keep a bottle of Jameson 12 yr old in the cabinet and enjoy on occasion.

Same here. A dozen bottles of good bourbon to a single bottle of Redbreast. But Redbreast does hit the spot at times…..like tonight!

Based on your Jack and Coke preference I wouldn't recommend you go out of your way to try Irish whiskey. If you're conveniently in a situation to try it then go ahead, but you probably won't find it sweet enough.

We are going dancing tonight, will try some Irish whiskey for the fun of it

I prefer Jameson Black Barrel over any rendition of Redbreast.

Every Irish whisky I ever tasted was hog piss swill until I got some Bushmills. It's okay. Tullamore Dew tastes like overcooked donkey dung.

I like the black barrel but its Irish with the Irish removed, more like a mellow rye

Redbreast 12 tops for me with Irish.

That sucks because I just bought a bottled. Haven’t opened it yet. Guess I’ll see.

That would imply you have some experience tasting donkey dung. I guess some folks have a broader epicurean experience than others.

While I prefer bourbon or Tennessee whiskey, I do enjoy Tullamore Dew over Jameson. My personal taste, YMMV.
