A year and a half ago my gal said she wanted a Traeger - powered by wood pellets. Got her one as a Christmas present, and a big sack of pellets. Assembly required. She started right in with it - uses it several times a week - really enjoys it - the meat and chicken are now better than ever.- uses it outside so no greasy smoke or extra heat in the kitchen. Win win.

If I don’t want to, she will do it. But nobody can cook a steak better than me, IMO. If it’s a quality steak, I am cooking it. Hotdogs and burgers, she can do.

Uh, I got my wife an air fryer a coupla weeks back.

She's "grilled" some burgers and chicken in it.

But start the charcoal grill?

I hardly think so.

Basic stuff on gas grill only.

Mostly veggies, hot dogs and hamburgers. Sometimes chicken thighs and drums.

Chars/blisters all her peppers, onions, tomatoes, tomatillos etc for salsas and sauces on gas grill.

Many wives are a smart bunch, they know how to do a lot of things, but plead ignorance. That way the hubby will end up doing all the work.

There seem to be a lot of guys in here that are not very sure of themselves.
If my wife got that grill delivered, and I wasn't around, she and the girls would
have it together and running in a couple hours.

My dad got killed when I was 2, mom had three kids to take care of.
That has been a running thing in my head our whole marriage.
My wife is a hillbilly girl and willing to learn, I have taught her to not
need me. If I don't see the end of this post, she and my kids will be fine!

Mowing, grilling, and pumping gas are not among my wife's activities.

Sometimes. Last night she grilled burgers and had everything ready when I got home. Who's going to complain about that!?

Yes and she is very good at it. Today we are having a beef short rib cook off. She is using the Traeger and I’m rolling the Joe. She will probably win.

The thermometer you stick in the meat on the Traeger takes the guesswork of some smoking tasks.

Grilling is a trick played on dumb men to get them out of the house and cook dinner. Cooking is women's work.

My wife can light a fire and cook a 3 course dinner under a tarp in a rainstorm. While I mix drinks, watch for bears and critique her style. You know, manly stuff.

My wife loves to cook and is damn good at it, including grilling . She can run the lawn mower and pump gas. Back in my hunting days she was always with me and shot her own game. Can fish better than I can. Can change her own flat tire, wash her own vehicle. When I kick the bucket I am pretty sure she will be able to handle life by herself.
