Paul,

As usual with this gathering we find ourselves at our place in north Idaho. We are just back this eve from a fishing trip to Ketchikan with family.

Mark, what's the name of the motel? That might be easier than dragging a 5th wheel back out there.

Hi. It would be very good if you could join the fun.

In addition to the possibility noted above by Kent, there has been an RV setup with full hookups in Quemado just North of J&Y (21 miles from camp) for quite a while, but I have not been up to town there for more than a year and am not certain about its status. You could probably determine that by calling 575-773-4775 (J&Y) or 575-773-4545 (Country Store) and asking.

There also is a simple and rustic full hookup RV park about 21 miles south of camp right on NM Rte. 32 (Apache Creek Youth Ranch) and a rather modern full hookup setup further down and on NM Rte. 12 at Cruzville - about 30 miles from camp (Sorry, don't now the name). We can find contact info for these if you have difficulty.

Plug Mrs Sig and me in and I'll figure out how to make the lodging work.

Paul:

My grandson is nearing completion on his Eagle and the project is scheduled to occur on July 30th. Of course I intend to help. But the schedule has slipped before. If I can, I will make it. As you know, I have attended several SW get togethers, but none at Armijo Springs. So I would like to go if the conflict resolves itself.

Largo is a decent place to stay and the cafe puts out some decent food.

I'll second the warning about the cat...

Hope you can make it!

Ed

We are pleased to note your interest in the SW Campfire gathering as expressed in this thread. Those of you who previously noted your intent via earlier messaging are already on the new PM list.

Please check for accuracy - the tally of persons here expressing intent and wising to be included in our planning and info PM is as follows:

RoadRunner65
270jrk
AZmark
RiverRider
High Noon
KC
OSU_Sig
WyColoCowboy
Donelle
The Warden

If anyone else intends to participate and is not on this list (or the previous initial PM), please chime in soon. We will probably vacate this one by tomorrow evening. Thanks.

Paul,
Make sure to add me to the PM for the gathering. I’m planning on being there. It looks like it may just be Jocie and I this year, Jace starts his apprenticeship on August 2.

Are any of you familiar with a small gated subdivision called Quemado Lake Estates, just north of the gathering. If any of you have any knowledge of it and want to shoot me a pm, please do.

Has it rained around there? We have had some substantial rains the past few days in the RV, Show Low and St. Johns area. The rain has damaged roads and made vehicle travel difficult and sometimes impossible. Are campfires OK there?

Don't know about road conditions but the forests have removed restrictions including fires.

Lots of rain finally here, last 3 days steady and even right now. It's a mess but we need all we can get.
