That's sad ... if not downright pathetic on "Remarms" part.

Back in the 50s when I was a kid Remington was the shizzizle. It's a damn shame what happened to them and, apparently, what they are continuing to-do.

The definition of insanity is doing the same wrong thing over and over again.

I blame the assclown Unions.

Frankly for $550 if that rifle produces good groups it is hard to ask for a lot more. That shotgun pad looks like "bumper pads" they installed in early 1990s. They should have gone with something that actually reduces felt recoil instead of something that prevents gun from sliding on wood floor when placed butt to the floor.

I was hoping for a better return by Big Green. The quality control does not inspire confidence they will continue building on their firearms reputation. I seems, from my perspective, they are putting their quality into the ammunition production, not their firearms.

Pretty sad.

Didn't touch on the trigger used on the 700. I'll assume the same POS X-Mark.

He didn't identify any "quality" issues per se, just level of fit and finish issues. If Remington hasn't revealed what kind of company they intend to be in this iteration, we don't really know yet what standard of fit and finish they're aiming for. That could be their high water mark for all we know.

I see it as they are putting the easy stuff back on the shelf. Gotta start somewhere. Personally though Remington has sucked for a while. Fit and finish are their big problems.

$400 for those Remington 870’s at Scheels. Prices seemed to have jumped some.

In the Pacific NW, the B-Mart chain is selling the new 870 for $369.00. The metal finish is significantly better than the older Express line. The new 870s I've seen all had laminated stocks with much better wood fit. The actions are a bit smoother than the old Express guns but not as smooth as a Wingmaster. For $369.00 in 2021, I'd say it is pretty good deal for a made in America shotgun.

those express shotguns have sucked ass for many years. worst metal finish, cheapest schit wood and about as smooth as asphalt. they even polluted marlin with that schit while they had them. plywood stocks, muddy bluing and schitty f&f. they are marketing to the "i don't give a schit what it looks like" crowd apparently. doubt i'd spend the sheckles on one of those POS's when i could get a like new used wingmaster for less.

Looks to me that all they are trying to get out of Remington is some quick cash with minimal investment.

As for keeping the union in New York, in the long run a unionized company cannot compete with a union-free company, especially if they stay in a state like New York. I think they're in it for the short run.

"I'd grade these about where they left off." he said.

Poor to pizz poor. QC is apparently still missing in action.

Winchester sure was making some nice rifles last time I looked. I'll buy a cheap Ruger before another Remington if that's all the better they can do. Pretty schitty reintroduction.

Oh well. Makes the older ones, that weren't junk, worth that much more.
