If you are referring to the 1899 short rifle which Savage called the saddle rifle they were continued as the Savage Model 99C after the name change around 1921/22. Some were made in 300 Savage. I have one. It's pictured in figure 5-3 on page 59 of my book. The 99C in 300 had a 22 inch barrel. The other calibers available were 303 and 30/30 with a 20" barrel. The SRC which savage called the carbine was discontinued before the 300 Savage caliber became available. But "With Savage never say never". There may be a SRC out there in 300 Savage.

They were made and are about 2X the price of the others.
Late 99-A's made:
.243, .250,.300 (`71-`73), .308 with 20" brl
.243, .250, .308, .375 with 22" brl
I'm still looking for the .22" .250.

That sounds like an early 99A. The later ones had a 22" barrel. 243's are pretty scarce also. Don't have any idea about value. Need pictures.

I had to go look, my 1980 250 is 22". I just got it from John down in Fl. Only shot it once at 50. holes touching, but I can't see the sights. Plan on putting a Redfield TV screen 2-7 on it. The one on the bottom.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

250 A with 22" barrel is not an easy gun to find.

John 800-1000 here in the states. Price would go up from there relative to added condition.

Joe I had one the same when living in N.Z. it was in great condition but had a head space issue a great gun smith corrected that I can't remember how exactly but I do recall the top of the bolt had been drilled and pin put in or similar, it shot great after that and safely
The 243 is in auction here estimated at $800.00 - $1,000.00 AUD so maybe around $750.00 USD with scope & mounts
