I found a30-06 case amidst some junk the other day with Den and the number 43 on the head stamp.
Can anyone tell me what this signifies?

Brass like other metals is subject to metallurgical deteriorization from age, don't think I'd be looking to reload brass that old when there's plenty of newer stuff readily available.

I use brass from Des Moines, 44 and Twin Cities, 54. Both have been fine. I ream primer pockets and anneal the necks before sizing. Also have stuff from "39". I find it better than the junk I`ve gotten from Winchester.

Yes. I have a bunch of Mil brass from the 40's and 50's and use it. My hunting loads go in a batch of LC57 Match.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

Found some SLC 42 '06 brass. Turned out my father in law was working there at the time. He enjoyed getting that momento. Never did reload any of it.
