Anyone try this stuff out?
I see you can buy it direct from Federal at $10.99 per box of 50 plus shipping
Any comments from someone who has used this stuff.
Thanks

It is just CCI Stingers with nickle plated 29g bullets in Federal packaging (CCI Federal and now Remington Ammunition are all owned by VISTA outdoor.)

They show ONLY the handgun velocites to make you think they were developed just for handguns, but they are just Stingers at double the cost to cash in on the self defense market.

The punch is a solid point flat nose, not a HP like the stinger.
Federal also lists velocity out of a 24 inch rifle barrel.

It looks like a hyper velocity solid to maximize penetration.

I stand corrected on the bullet profile .Thanks,

At handgun velocities ,still not much difference between the two loads in terms of terminal performance I would reckon.

This shows Stingers about 100FPS slower from a 2 inch barrel. but factories seem to have a tendency to inflate FPS numbers

I would like too try some

They are $7.97 at a LGS. I was just asking about them today. Sales clerk says they are pretty fast out of a pistol barrel. Made for self defense. At damn near $8/box, I passed. Mitch, if you are paying $10.99/box, you are getting screwed buddy..

Paul Harrel has a video on youtube comparing them to Stingers and MiniMags. For whatever it is worth, he didn't find any reason to pay the premium for the Punch.

Skeptical I am. If a CB short will fully penetrate a 100# hog neck, or the skull on a mature boar, why bother? Velocity ain't always the key to killing power, or penetration.

No holler-point? I’ll pass. See a bunch of penetration/expansion/velocity tests over the years. Stingers run about 1200+ out of a 5 1/2” barrel, verified by my chrono tests decades ago, and expand. Velocitors and other over-speed 40 grainers usually crank out at about 1K out of handguns and expand some too.

I load Stingers in my 3” revolver, and whatever works in my LCP Lite Rack, currently RWS HSHPs. Don’t want to over-penetrate you know.

Watching him is like watching Ben Stein when he was on “The Wonder Years”.

He sure wastes a lot of good meat and fruit.

Dude270: Yes I saw the velocity of 1,650 F.P.S. out of a 24" barrel!
That IS perky!
I wonder what it would be out of what most consider the "optimum" barrel length for velocity with 22 L.R. ammunitions - that being 16" or 18" (I forget)?
I intend on buying some and unlike some "sage" types in this thread I do NOT think $8.00 per box of 50 for SELF DEFENSE rounds is asking to much or unaffordable in any way, shape or form!
I mean how many self defense rounds/situations is one likely to go through?
But in all the stores and shops I have frequented of late I have NOT seen any of these - but will be on the lookout.
Would enjoy seeing some penetration testing in ballistic gelatin.
Hold into the wind
