It’s all by the hour…… I’m not concerned about it, since NH is unlikely to go that route and my BOS even less likely to follow suit.

Honest no BS question.....how are they faring now? In the past 10 yrs almost everything around here went regional. What 3 regional depts covering 2 counties I think. I honestly only know of a few municipalities still going strong.

Nothing like that happening here.

My township held out as long as they could, but the last offer was so low they couldnt refuse and put Southern out. Fire/ambulance's seeing the same thing. When they opened SAVEs 29 a bunch consolidated. Good to hear its not happening in your area, because quite frankly youre best to help yourself around here. North of 450k people in this county and service is schit.

Work in a union factory.
30 employees, including management.
They "required" masks early last year. Took our temp. Every shift.
Temp lasted a week...maybe.
I work mostly alone, often in my own room.
They knew I wouldn't be real compliant, so they ask me to wear it around others. Unless eating or drinking.
Carried my coffee mug. Or was on break/lunch.
Big boss caught me talking to a guy without it once.
Pissed me off, the guy needed help and I went right to helping him.
Boss left it drop with a "try to remember".
Masks lasted a month or two. People around here tend to not be
sheeple. At least not as bad as some other places.
Lucky to work in the kind of place I do. Have worked for a huge, modern
company. One where rules are the #1 priority. Pity those who work
under those conditions, no matter the pay.
Sure hope I never have to again.

We have 3 borough Depts in our county.
Maybe 10 or so cops, all told.
Saxton only has two, I think. I know they are hurting, want to combine
with a town in another county. And they need the cops. Stuck in around
the mountains/lake/river. They are a long way from where the couple
State boys are likely to be in the county.
Tough times for a poor, isolated small town.
Funny story about their dept.
Couple years ago, they had some emergency call.
One on duty, the other responded from home. In a big dam hurry.
Came flying around a corner,
And wrecked.
Into the other cop car!
Destroyed one, extensively damaged the other. The only two they had.
Nobody hurt. But the Keystone Cops jokes....!
