The guy who owns our fishing camp up in Canada has one. It doesn't look like a pleasure vehicle, but he sure works it around camp. What impresses me about his is that it has enough traction in loose sugar sand to pull up our 16' Lund boats, motor, gear and two fishermen up onto to the log bunks and out of the water.
My other auto is a .45
The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory

A place I used to work had a diesel model.
4 rear tires and I believe you could lock them all in.
It was okay in some situations, best if kept to smoother ground or on road, no deeper mud or real rough ground.
Minimal ground clearance as the rear has no real suspension.
Pulled like a bastard too. For me it would take a back seat to a good SxS.

Have a 2 seater at the cabin. It is a real workhorse. Has the dump box. Tons of power but not a high speed trail machine.

Bear in mind that the Gator is much like the Mule in that there are the simple groundskeeper/cart models, as well as the upper end models that are built like a modern SxS.
Now with even more aplomb

I bought the 825m last year and it has been a great machine. Does not lack for power, has high/low range low is very low, 11' ground clearance and a top speed on pavement is 44mph. I have the electric dump box which is handy and a split windshield and roof. It came with netting for doors and I took them off before I caught my foot in them and ended up on my head. Electronic fuel injection helps the starting here in the winter. Mine has 1 bench seat and I think the weight of the machine is around a ton payload capacity 1000lbs.

I’ve had a 590i for 5 years. Never had a problem. I have some bad bogs around my farm and have never needed the winch or bogged it down. Mine is the basic SxS with single bench seat. Of course if I did bog it down, I would just pull it out with my 4x4 JD tractor.....

I've had a Gator for over 5 years and the only thing I've done to it is lube the chassis, change oil, and put a new fuel filter in it.
Almost forgot, new battery last year

Pulled like a bastard too. For me it would take a back seat to a good SxS. Sounds like you're referencing the 'orginal' gator. All the new ones are SxS configuration with independent suspension. A buddy has an 855 diesel. Its like the Energizer Bunny.
