SPS or ADL?
SPS will have a hinged floorplate, ADL will be a blind mag.

SPS denotes the finish. ADL is blind mag. So it's an ADL with the SPS finish.

SPS denotes the finish. ADL is blind mag. So it's an ADL with the SPS finish. I've never heard of such a thing. SPS is "special purpose synthetic" and would have the hinged floorplate as its a model not a finish much like XCR or A, B, CDL ADL's are blind mag guns.

SPS is the rougher finish and also denotes the newer stock style without actual checkering. Says it right on the end of the ADL boxes

Yep They Made SPS's In Both ADL And BDL . This Is Just Mind Blowing To Some People.. The Same Way If You List As One as A BDL. The Diehard. Think The Only Use For BDL Was The Older Wood Stock Brass Pin BDL's..

The Newer Ones Have The 24" Barrel. I Much Prefer The 22".

When I called Remington years ago about what the term "Special Purpose" meant. I was told it denotes the rougher finish. I had an 11-87 that had the words Special Purpose on the side and I wondered what that meant. And that's what Remington told me.
