Was involved in a movie production on his "ranch" right after and during one of his run ins with IRS. I never could understand how he managed to keep that place. ( The town scene where peach rings that rooster’s neck in Lonesome Dove was filmed there). I suppose he’s one of the anointed ones.

Almost all the artsy-fartsy crowd are big Libs. Goes with the wiring that makes them “creative”. I’ve mostly stopped reading about anyone whose acting or singing I enjoy because I prefer not knowing. he's one of the few old school country guys that i don't like. even seen him in concert a few times. he always played his songs way too fast like he wanted out of there. his voice sucks, his songs suck and his politics suck. so ya, not a fan.
