A guy at work got a new SOLGW upper and I commented on how handy it was. "Yeah, I really wanted a Geissele but they were always out of stock." And I immediately traded him my Geissele for his SOLGW.

They were both 11.5" barrels with 10.5" MLOK rails. The SOLGW upper was 18.5oz lighter.

This post really means nothing. I'm just bored and excited that I don't have to lug that pig around anymore.

I don't know man. The last one was--Shoot any number of rounds, From any distance at all, In any amount of time. And I think only two people got involved. I'm not sure the drill of the month is real popular, lol.

What rail is on the SOLGW? Over a pound difference is nothing to sneeze at.

It's their EXO2 rail (made by ZEV). A lot of the weight also came from the barrel. It was THICK.

I took a pic of the new one but don't think I have any of the Geissele. The barrel and rail are overall lighter in profile. Apparently pretty significantly. I'm sure this rail is not as robust, but I'm not mounting aiming devices on it and for what I need they've worked very well.
