I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.

I'm afraid you are correctly. It's one of those things where the tipping process is gradual, and then suddenly the middle point is reached, immediately following which all hell flows out into the world. We're at the "all hell flows out" stage now.
