Renaming any post us a bad idea. It would be like throwing out American history. Hal Moore was a great soldier but he can't supersede history.

Of course named after General John Bell Hood, Confederate Commander of The 4th Texas Infantry Regiment.
Largest Military Base in the USA

Need to change Washington DC to Hiden Biden first.
These jerk offs that want to eliminate names are as bad as the ones in Washington that want to eliminate the laws now in place to protect the republic.
If you give into this you might as well vote for gun control..

I've got news for the uneducated PC crowd: Since the former Confederate states were re-admitted to the union, Confederate history became a part of U.S. history. Whether they like it or not, or me for that matter, thirteen of the fifty stars on the U.S. flag are for former Confederate states. Think about that the next time it is saluted. Furthermore, by a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress, it was declared that all Confederate veterans are to be recognized as being U.S. veterans and entitled to recognition as such. It is called reconciliation.

Not sure where you are going with that.
I'm American.
No qualifiers, no BS. No stupid little games.
It's all my history.
Changing names, taking down statues to soldiers, BS every bit.
Slavery, confederacy, whatever they call the hate for Columbus, It's just the beginning. The goal is to erase where we came from, and what we stood for. After they build a socialist schithole.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

First off, I'd like the names of the forts to stay the same, it looks like that isn't going to happen. I'm all for naming forts after military hero's who won the MOH, Fort Audie Murphy or Fort John Basilone. Oh wait, that's racist, they are all (mostly) white!

Renaming Benning will be the last straw for me. I was so ready to retire when I did. Today's (or yesterdays) Army is not my Army. The last couple of years I was in you could drive around on post and see guys in uniform walking down the sidewalk holding hands. I just grew tired of the changes. Benning has some of my best memories. If they rename that, it really won't be my Army.
Don't just be a survivor, be a competitor.

Maybe we should rename the Alamo too.

Since Joe Biden got the most votes ever , he should definitely have something named after him. Are there any historic outhouses in Scranton?

Does renaming a fort improve military rediness? Hell no. The military is not a social experiment it is a fighting force FFS. Rnaming creates a period of confusion and costs will be staggering. If the name change is near a crisis the results could be catastrophic. Absolute bullchittt.

I am sure many of us have fond or not memories of Benning. AIT, Jump School, Ranger School for me. I chewed a lot of ground there and served with many heroes. I was not one of them!

My uncle was retired Army and finished his career there as an instructor on the Dragon missile. We would go down every summer and see them and my aunt would drag me all over Ft. Benning. Later, I went for basic, AIT and Airborne school and then my oldest son went there for basic, AIT and Airborne School. When I left Sand Hill I never dreamed that some day I would be returning for my son’s graduation. No matter what they call it, it will always be Ft. Benning to me.
