Not possible because the water has to be pumped into the ocean, which will be causing much of the problem. It's idiocy

Not to the ocean.

There is idiocy here abouts. Truth.

All water flows to the ocean. However if I am wrong you can tell us where the water is pumped too in this situation

Typically I'd agree, but GW was in charge for Katrina so I bet it gets blamed on him...

I live in La. but can do without New Orleans. I live not far North of I 10 in one of the driest parishes in the state.

The tiny part of the USA that is actually below sea level should be evacuated for both safety and common sense. People will not only die in these areas, but people will die trying to save these sad sacks of humanity, both will happen tomorrow

I didn't know this until I read this article a few minutes ago, but 150 years ago all of NOLA was above sea level.

How Humans Sank New Orleans

When they pump the water out the land contracts, the same thing is happening to some Pacific islands

That’s how I felt when I left 25 years ago. Also, I did not want to die there. (It was a lot more dangerous back then, and I could not protect my small child as well as I liked.)

You’re right. One more piece of military equipment put on Guam and over she goes into the ocean.
Hank Johnson said so.

New Orleans gets its utility and drinking water from the Mississippi River not from below the city.
