We have been waiting on this one for several months now. 5 to be exact. Erica and I took everything we didn't like about our standard 13' gheenoe and had Big Franks Outdoors in Maryville,TN build this LT10 to our liking. And they knocked it out of the park. We drove down to Tennessee today to pick it up and we couldn't be more pleased.

We went with a flat floor, rear casting deck, and a low front deck with a skipper seat, a 6hp 4 stroke, center storage box turned fore and aft, cushions, a grab bar, and a bow mount for a trolling motor that typically mounts to the transom.

Just in time for fall fishing too👌.

Interesting rig. Is there any reason a jet propulsion motor wouldn't work on that boat instead of a prop motor?

One reason for sure comes to mind. Our streams and creeks go from super shallow (even too shallow for a jet) to moderately deep (just fine for prop). We can't run a riffle or rapid here as there's still not enough water; which is where a jet would excel. So what we do here, is launch off of a riffle into a deep eddie of water and fish it. And I fish cave run lake a good bit on the fall also, I've never had a jet on the lake but I've heard from buddies that when it gets choppy; the jets really suck.

I just got a return call from the local warden. He told me to carry the paperwork and its good for 30days. So I might take it out this afternoon on cave run. No idea if the fish are moving on the lake yet though.

Took it out yesterday evening for a few. The lake was packed, so I stayed up river. I raised one little muskie about 24" and watched a guy in front of me lose a mid 30s. The boat did great. The little 6hp moved it faster than I thought it would. No idea on speed but I'd guess around 12-15mph.

Damn 12-15 mph that ought to keep the bugs off you. When it comes to boats I like simple. I guess that's why my runabout sits and the 16' lund and alumacraft go to the lake. Did you have much problem running down the new Tohatsu to buy? New small and mid sized outboards are in damn short supply around here. Mb

Well. I had issues with the whole rig. I ordered it in April and they told me it would be complete by the end of May. So I went ahead and paid for it. Few weeks went by and I got an email stating that it would be the end of July due to supply issues. Then July came and went and around the 2nd week of august I received another email stating that it just went in for rigging. Then last week they called me to tell me it was ready for pickup. I don't know what part or parts they had trouble getting but I would wager that the outboard was one of them.

All that being said, I would have preferred Yamaha. I had a Yamaha 9.9 on a 1648 jon and a 70hp on a 17' alumacraft. Both 4 strokes. Those motors purred like kittens. Easy to start, smooth idle, and not much vibration. While the little tohatsu is fine for the money, it's no Yamaha. It's louder than I think it should be, more vibration in the tiller handle than I like, and not as easy to start.

But it's the only way I could get the boat customized the way I want with minimal wait; As they sell them as a package deal hull, motor, trailer) and only deal with tohatsu. I will probably upgrade the outboard later on. But for now, the tohatsu will be fine. Everyone seems to love them and they get great reviews.

Yup slow delivery times. A friend ordered his new lund Alaskan 1600 with a 75 hp 4 stroke merc in early January just got it last week. About 8 months of waiting. Mb

Some dealers aren't even taking orders at all. I was thinking of selling my 19' with 115 Mercury Pro XS and moving into a 20' Xpress bass boat with 200 horse Merc or Yamaha Sho. I could sell my boat and make some good money on it. Guys were lined up to buy and nobody quibbled about the asking price. But I couldn't get another boat any time remotely soon.

May you and the new rig be as successful as the old one.

Give up? I'll be fishing muskies until Im too old or dead.

I've been reading a lot and posting little.

Here's one from a few days ago.....nothing big has shown up for a bit. We have cooler temps coming; they will fire up soon.
