was the worst decision you made in my opine.
He was stuck between the responsibility of validating each states representatives votes and checking the math, his constitutional duty,
and a host of state issues beyond his authority to intervene.

Responsible for .. not precisely but not "no" either. I think he made it much easier for people already inclined to dislike him and he made it harder for some people who were trying to support him to do so by giving his political enemies that much easy, unearned, ammo. It allowed people to focus on politics of personality rather than politics of issues. He was winning the battle on issues. By bringing personality to the table to the degree he did, he torpedoed himself. IMHO. The real question ... I think ... is this: were the things that hamstrung him running for reelection the very things that got him elected the first time? In other words, is there a time to stop running as an outsider and run as a statesman?
