Hoping to get some advice on M98 receivers.
I have an Interarm/Whitworth 375 H&H on its way. Been looking for a one piece (preferably) scope mount. Came across the Warne M960M, but it appears to only have one hole to secure the rear of the mount. Went to Warnes web site to check the fit. That's where I came across references to altered and unaltered M98 receivers. What's the difference between the two?
FWIW, several years ago I had a Whitworth Express in 30-06 that had rebored to 9.3x62. Ask I recall finding a scope base was a little bit of a challenge and frankly don't remember what I ended up with.
I currently have Interarms Mark X in 7x57. It came with a 1 pc Redfield base and Leupold Std rings. It looks to only be secured at rear by one screw, although there could be another hidden under the rear ring.
Bottom line is what are my options for a 1 pc Weaver-style base for my in-transit Whitworth 375?
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

Most one piece bases only have one hole at the rear. If it is sold as being for an unaltered 98, it will not fit your Mk X hole spacing. Unlatered is for converted military receiveds and has clearnace to fit OVER the charger hump. Altered does not have the added clearance and typically uses teh same hole spacing as used on Commercial 98 bases.

10-4 on checking the hole spacing. Planning on a call to Warne tomorrow.

Your Interarms will take any scope bases designated for an FN commercial Mauser. The Interarms action is a copy of the FN Supreme and has two rear holes.

I'd bet that the Warne base will fit. By the time Interarms starting importing Whitworths, the hole spacing was standard.

Spoke with Warne about the one-piece mount they offer for the Mauser. Was advised against it. Warne suggeested that if I wanted a 1 pc, that I look to Ken Farrel. https://www.kenfarrell.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_60&product_id=183

Yeah, didn't think the holes would match. Redfield and Leupold both used to make unaltered bases, hole spacing on both was different and neither would match with standard FN spacing. Me, I prefer the two piece bases. I have installed several of the Farrel bases. Nice, but HEAVY!
