This one's for the tang sight guru's.
Picked this one up, marked,

"Marble" Gladstone. Mich.
Pat. Oct.20-03, Nov.14-05.
R12 on bottom of base

Anybody know what this goes on?
Thanks

This one doesn't have the ears on it like the lyman sight.
It has 2 holes similar to the tang on a 99 sight.

Well, if it is it's not the same as the ones I'm seeing.
What I did find is it fits a Savage # 3 single shot 22 cal, some older Mossberg 22 cals and Remington .

You’re correct. It’s a ‘Flexible’ rear sight for the Remington M33 & M34, Mossberg B, C & R and Savage No. 3.
The Lyman R12 is for the Remington M12.

Don’t have too much faith in me Randy. Sorry for the incorrect info.

Thanks, I did finally find some info after posting, now I'm going to have to get to the back of the safe. I might have one of those rifles it will fit. 😋😋

Nash, that sight is made to mount with wood screws on the wrist of the stock, it's not a very popular sight because of that, if you have a nice gun you don't want the extra holes and if you have a beater you don't want to spend more money on it! I never thought mounting a sight on the wood was that good an idea, it just seems that it would not be very stable.

Check the hole spacing, I've found they often use an existing base for another purpose for sights that mount on the wood because there is no set hole spacing, the sight might work on something else within reason. Many of the ones I've seen have 1.125" spacing which is what Savage, Marlin and Colt used. I have a Marble's special base sight for a Ross rifle that fits on a Savage pump 22, the angle is just slightly different and it would just require a slightly taller front sight. I just got a Marble's R13S that is for mounting on the wood in the comb of a Remington Model 8, it has 1.125" hole spacing and I found an interesting use for it, it does not fit all versions of these rifles due to differences in the comb -

Gene, thanks for the information. I wasn't sure what it fit, but only paid a couple bucks for it. No screws came with it, just the sight. I agree, don't like the idea of mounting on the wood. I checked, but don't have anything it will work on as is.

wood isn't as tough as steel. Seems like the wood mounted sight would be more susceptible to getting knocked off.
